Flo No Mo: R&B Duo Floetry Calls It Quits
A change was in the air a year ago, when we penned this one: Marsha Ambrosius To Flow Solo. And now it’s official: Marsha Ambrosius (the Songstress) and Natalie Stewart (the Floacist) are Floetry no more. But Marsha has not yet flown the Floetry coup… Enter Stewart’s replacement: up and coming, rapper/vocalist, Amanda Diva.
We’re more concerned with Marsha’s highly anticipated debut album than how the new Floetry will fare. Like Amel Larrieux before her, (former vocalist of the now defunct duo, Groove Theory) there’s no question if Ambrosius will have an audience. As much as we enjoyed the innovative, UK-style Floetry had to offer, we think it’s time for Ambrosius to step into the limelight again, but this time, perhaps, alone.
Because, in all honesty, we hate having to wait a verse to hear this songstress sing.

Floetry is still one of my favorite groups whether they split up or not. At least I still have my live cd, ya heard??? And who is Amanda Diva anyway? When you walk into a new group you always have to work extra hard to get people who liked the orignal group to like you. So she's gone have to be good or people are gonna say she's whack.
Cracking up laughing!!! Good question who the hell is Amanda Diva?
Damn! I will miss the music they made together. I have no clue who the hell Amanda Diva is. This should be interesting. Fantastic site you have here.
Lol @ you guys. Amanda Diva is a celebrated slam poet who--now that I think about it--should make a good addition to the the melody & spoken word combination that Floetry had going. She might be a stronger wordsmith than Natalie to boot. Could make the content a little more interesting next time around. Though, without Marsha's pipes, they can pack the whole show up and call it a day...What a voice!
Dammmn! It's not like Floetry was a 5-man band. The whole thing rested on those two sistahs shoulders and replacing one of em is just idiotic. "Floetry" should give up the ghost and get on with their lives.
i'll miss Floetry...Not as badly as I miss LOOSE ENDS - where are THEY, Now?
Loose Ends! Good lord you're taking me back! Now, I'm remembering Soul II Soul and wondering what in the world happened to them. We'll have to put out a call asking for the safe return of these groups. ;)
There's a reunion pending...thank goodness!
