Fresh Face [#010]: Celestina Aladekoba

From The Cocoa Lounge

Cocoa Lounge Fresh Face [#010]: Celestina Aladekoba, Dancer
Celestina Aladekoba: We love the way she moves

Following in the fancy footsteps of such greats as Judith Jamison, Debbie Allen, and Fatima Robinson, Celestina Aladekoba is a dancing machine.

The young star of MTV's pseudo-reality show, DanceLife, made us believers with a recent performance on the Ellen show, where she earned the Cocoa Lounge moniker "Butter," because she's so smooth on her toes.

The Nigeria native and USC grad danced her way from the background in videos for artists such as Missy Elliot, Will Smith and Beyonce, to a notable solo in Super Bowl King Prince's infamous "Black Sweat" video.

And her feet haven't failed her since.

So sorry that it's taken me so long to check out your blog but it's wonderful and I've added it to the Delightfulblogs directory this afternoon.

I saw her on Dancelife and knew her from somehwere and it IS the black sweat video, that's right. I thought she just might have been a actress. Cool that she's on the show. It needed a black girl who could dance because some of those other dancers are real questionable.

I REMEMBER her because she rocked this show from back in the day called "dance 360" she danced around some FINE latino gentleman who won, but they looked like they had some chemistry, even though they were competing she did "The Celestina Dance" that was years ago, i only remembered her because i remembered how she'd mentioned being from Africa (Nigeria, i think) on the show and her name and dance's name, it was cool, and the cute boy didn't hurt either :-) yeah, she rocked it! that is so cool that she's rockin out even bigger now. (i don't have cable, and even so, i would have never caught her cause i don't watch mtv but rock out)
by the way i was lookin' up debbie allen and i saw this girl with the name judith jamison underneath her pic (i thought that she was debbie allen's daughter, and that she was staring in a movie as judith jamison) :-)

We think http://www.edcurenz.com alike when it comes to taking inspiration from http://www.sildenafrance.com older times, whether it be http://www.bluemanspill.com the 1950's a la Grease or Audrey Hepburn.
