NOW: 'A Raisin in The Sun' Premieres

Set your TVs! A Raisin in The Sun premieres tonight on ABC.

A landmark in black theater history, the classic tale gets a fresh new look with stars Phylicia Rashad, Sean P. Diddy Combs, Sanaa Lathan, Audra McDonald and costumes by Gersha Phillips.

Having seen and loved the 1961 version, it'll be hard not to compare the two but we're thankful ABC decided to develop this literary classic after the success of Oprah's 2005 Their Eyes Were Watching God adaptation.

If this tradition continues, we'd love to see them tackle some work of the brethren; Richard Wright's Native Son, Ralph Ellison's Invisble Man, or James Baldwins' Go Tell it on the Mountain perhaps...? Hey, we're just putting out there in the hopes that someone at ABC catches it...

Tonight at 8, be sure to pay the Younger family a visit.

I knew about the movie coming on ABC, and it is good to see that ABC is showing movies about Black People. I set my clock to wake me up to see the movie and it was worth missing some sleep. Sean Combs did a great acting job on the movie. The movie was also good for children to see how it was in the 60's and how not to trust people that say they are ur friends when it come to money.

Viva la Phylicia Rashad!!! She MADE that tv-movie. Diddy did better as the movie progressed. He has a lot to grow. Sanaa is always excellent.

I can't stand P. Diddy but I watched it anyway to support my peoples and I STILL can't stand Diddy! Looooool. I know he probably put some money behind it but it killz me when these rapper... entertainer...whatevers THINK they can act.

He almost ruined the movie with his dry I don't know if I want to laugh or be serious face. God! I liked Phylicia Sanaa and the other woman but that man nearly drug the movie down the drain.
