Not only do we love the title of this organization, we also love its mission. Founded by Mitzi Miller of Honey Magazine, author Joan Morgan, DJ Beverly Bond and journalist, Kenya Hunt, Black Girls Rock! Inc's mission is to promote discussion and awareness of the ways women of color are portrayed in mainstream media to at risk teenage girls.

Just checked out the link and have added it to my favourites. Will DEFINITELY be supporting this. It's about time someone started SERIOUSLY addressing and doint something about the images we allow ourselves to help portray to a "can't wait to stereotype media". BET should be more responsible, but I guess the $'s more important for all (especially for the many "greedy and (sometimes) gullible" black women out there. I'm hoping too this group stay within the female gender as I don't see many black males trying to help with this issue!
