Sanaa Lathan and Nia Long are packing up and heading to 'Cleveland.'
The actresses will join Fox's Family Guy spin-off as the women in the title character, Cleveland Brown's, life. Sanaa will play Cleveland's love interest and Nia, her rebellious teenage daughter (no word yet on what will become of Cleveland's original wife, Loretta...)
We hope that the show can translate Family Guy's niche humor to a diverse audience; with the talent falling into place, it certainly has the early makings of a midseason hit.

It's funny that sanaa is going to play nia long's mother and nia is older than Sanaa.
I don't like the Family Guy because a lot of the jokes are bigoted. I CRINGE most of the times when I watch the show because a lot of the jokes are straight up racist, sexist and rude. I hope they get some black writers on this show who can raise their hand when stuff starts going too far because the Family Guy goes way too far most of the doggone time.
The only thing I would worry about is that Sanaa and Nia don't usually do comedy but other than that I'm glad that they're on the show. It's not everyday that we get to see animation about a black family.

I, too, think its great that Sanaa and Nia are working and share concerns over how race will be handled and what contexts and situations will be exploited...something the show is known for.
I don't know what ya'll are talking about Family Guy is the funniest show on tv. They don't care about stereotypes and will make fun of everybody and that's why it is freakin hilarious. We have to learn to stop being so sensitive and just laugh.... it's comedy!
I believe, in one episode, Loretta cheats with Quagmire (sp?) and they break up.
I'm black and I still find Family Guy very funny and entertaining. It is true that many of the jokes are bigoted but the point is to pick on human kind. I do agree that sometime they have gone too far(such as the JonBenet Ramsey) but most of the time its not even in the race/sexist department. I hope The Cleveland show isn't corny and has the hilarious Family Guy flare.
